Job Title: Site Manager (Structured Cabling)
Location: Slough
The Role:
We are looking for a Site Manager to lead an engineering team on a large-scale Structured Cabling Data-Centre Build Project.You will be responsible for managing the installation engineer’s day-to-day tasks, in-line with the project program, completion of RAMS & H&S documents, checking in/out of equipment, documenting daily progress and working within budget.
As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for all Structured Cabling Cat6a and Fibre Optic installations and in charge of coordinating with other contractors and trades, ensuring that the work is done efficiently and according to the specifications and standards.
Providing leadership and support to ensure allocated Project(s) are successfully delivered with financial monitoring and control, within the agreed contractual time frames while ensuring environmental, Health & Safety and Quality compliance are adhered to.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- ECS Card, IOSH, SMSTS, SSSTS & Prince 2 (Preferable)
- Clear understanding of Construction Health and Safety requirements, including management of RAMS and Sub-Contractors.
- A Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in Site Management, preferably in the Data Centre Construction Industry
- Proficient in Cat6a and Fibre Optic Cabling Technologies and Standards • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines, work well under pressure, and deliver high-quality

- To be the lead on-site point of contact for key customer contracts, anticipate customer needs, ensure customer deadlines are met and support the contract to ensure customer success and contractual compliance.
- To effectively Manage, Monitor and Support the project team.
- To effectively build and maintain internal key departmental contacts and stakeholder relationships to always ensure positive outcomes and cross functional working.
- Take ownership of the project delivery including implementing, monitoring and developing
- construction programmes to ensure key project performance measurables are achieved.
- Management of Resources both direct and indirect to ensure programme compliance.
- To attend progress review meetings with external and internal customers and provide timely support and corrective actions to ensure successful delivery of the project, budgets and to optimise customer relationships and protect the business.
- To ensure compliance with industry standards and codes of practice, company quality and compliance standards and customer SLA’s and take corrective action as appropriate.
- To lead by example to ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Environmental (HS&E) statutory and regulatory requirements, standards and codes of practice and company procedures.
- Planning and Managing of Direct Employees, Sub-Contractors and supply chain. • Helping with the commercial and financial management including monthly applications, variations, and contractual notices to both client, sub-contractors and supply chain.
- To produce and analyse project progress reports
- To monitor quality and continually explore improvements in company procedures, installation techniques and to provide regular feedback into the business.
- Liaising with clients and reporting on progress to staff and the public
- Supervising construction workers and hiring subcontractors
- Procuring materials for each phase of the project
- Assisting with monitoring costs and project progress
- Conducting quality and safety inspections
- Checking and preparing site reports, designs and drawings
- Maintaining quality control checks
- Motivating the workforce
- Day to day problem-solving and dealing with any issues that arise
- You’ll be working full-time on-site in Slough.
- Working times may vary depending on project requirements and may involve travel and staying away from home.
