Infrastructure Support Engineer

- Minimum 3 years hands on experience, within the structured cabling industry.
- Good understanding of Structured Cabling Solutions, terminating & testing and undertaking MACs on live systems.
- Knowledge of Systimax 110 & Krone style voice frame/s and backbone.
- Basic understanding of network connectivity to support Hands & Eyes activities e.g., check power and local connectivity for WAP/s and Switch/s.
- Basic understanding of fibre backbone and patching.
- Experienced in and access to Fluke test equipment and fault diagnosis.
- Experience in LAN patching and moves / adds / changes, and fault diagnosis & requests.
- Health & Safety Training (CSCS) which is affiliated to the Construction Industry Training Board.
- At least 3 manufacturer’s installation accreditations i.e., Corning, Reichle & De Massari, Leviton or other leading brands.
- Have completed or booked on an Industry recognised Structured Training Course, i.e., CNET CNIT, BICSI Engineer, BICSI Technician.
- Self-motivated and competent communicator.
- Competent in the use of a laptop and MS Excel.
- Preferred but not essential – Clearance – SC level
- Own transport essential for travel between base & remote customer sites.
- Undertake and manage client communication/s for deskside fault and LAN patching requests.
- Managing a SNow (Service Now) fault ticket queue (via customer supplied laptop) for designated location/s – SNow training provided (plus day2day remote support and guidance available).
- Submission of weekly statistic/s reports via Excel spread sheet – Specific task training and soft templates provided.
- Fault diagnosis & resolution and/or, replacement of telephony conference device/s – using customer owned stock.
- Patching of voice & data circuits – using customer owned stock.
- Stock management (customer supplied patch lead stock) – keep a running / MS Excel record of stock level/s. Send & receive stock from base location.
- MAC support – under Company & customer instruction.
- Hosting of 3rd party contractors within LAN room/s.
- Adhoc LAN room compliance spot check/s – under Company guidance.
- All works guided and supported under lead PM and existing engineering team (and the customer) – the successful candidate will be integrated into a larger UK based team but will also have to work under their own initiative.

- Contract service / estimated duration – 2yrs. Estimated to start June 1st – 2022.
- Requirement to backfill resource during illness and annual leave periods too.
